Set in downtown Los Angeles, Captain Rooftop explores the artifice of Hollywood cinema and an archetypal male character it perpetuates. The video’s camerawork and sound design take an absurd feminist approach against traditional seamless cinema as a stereotypical masculine character repeatedly fails to stay onboard his landlocked ship. As the video loops it becomes clear his actions are futile, a ridiculous performance for a role in which he has been cast.
